Many schools are adjacent to parks and often full of people walking dogs, walking or whatever. In Nashville that is not something one is clearly accustomed to. A woman clearly on a phone, sitting on a bleacher, partially in the sun with a purse would be alright. Falling down on the ground, having a seizure or some type of ailment related gesticulation would indicate not. I was told that this is partially in response to seeing someone there and yes that is odd to them but also the Christian superhero complex to help someone regardless.
This is where I live - crazy town. The people here are afraid of everything. They see boogeymen where there are none and they are sure that everyone is of ill intention. The suspicion and doubt permeate the news and almost every encounter I have where someone expresses their fear and loathing of crimes not yet committed. None of them have ever been actually a victim of crime, I have, but they are sure they will be and want to make sure they let you know about it.
A Teacher whom I have subbed for previously asked me enroute to the room I was in if I was available Monday. I said I would have to check. But I already knew that I had taken her gig and some others here and I was planning on cancelling them all. I don't need this shit in my daily life. I later said, whoops no I am busy but after what happened to me this a.m. I need time away from here and with 3 weeks left I want no conflicts just peace of mind. She understood completely and too thought it was odd. The Aide in my class thought it was great that they were checking on me and making sure anyone in the park were there for the right reasons. Really? They were in a public park at 8:15 am?
This comes after the last two days of watching the maniac in chief stumble, blunder and bully his way across the bragging, swaggering of his fake 100 day non-achievements. If anyone thinks this man is rational, sane and in charge of all his faculties I have a park to meet you at a 8 a.m.
The strange references to history and the endless references to the electoral college, the attendance at his inaguaration and the constant rebukes and challenges only to be rescinded, retracted or revised, including calling a maniac a "smart cookie." Does he think North Korean's have fortune cookies? I am not even bothering to talk about Duerte, maybe when he visits they can hit South Beach up for some drugs and murder.
Then we had the pouting during the interview with John Dickerson only later to invite him on Air Force One and then to have dinner with him calling his show, Deface the Nation. At some point even Mr. Dickerson has to establish some hutzpah and refuse to comply with this charade. I will no longer watch the show as a result.
The Health Bill that continues to be a force of reckoning is not about doing the right thing but about Obama and hitting the 100 plus day mark of retracting, revising his orders and laws as an arcane rule allows. Trump and your orders you were well played my friend, this was the only thing the GOP had planned for your first 100. That and now a Government shutdown as declared by the lunatic in charge as a way of shaking things up. Yes that and the chaos that results sounds great. I know let's put Congress on a United Airline Flight and see how that works out.
But Barack is not only target in their sights, Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" campaign that focused on healthy eating in the school lunch program and her "Let Girl's Learn" are also now chopped and blocked and not in a salad and learning game way. What really is the issue here is not the guidelines and the costs of food but the Obama involvement. In reality food has been a major issue in schools across the country due to outsourcing its preparation by corporations who want to treat kids like airline passengers, and that is working out well. But also if that was the case I find it odd that kids who have not paid for their lunch tickets the food is promptly thrown out. Is that too not a waste in both food and money?
But maybe its because I don't have any friends to unwind and share my day with. Well it could be worse.
Exploring Donald Trump’s network of unnamed friends
He did this twice during a recent interview with Bloomberg News, which prompted us to build out a full Rolodex of anonymous-but-politically-useful friends of Trump. Without further ado, that list.
A truckerInterview with Bloomberg, April 2017. (This friend was also mentioned in Baton Rouge in December.)
“I have very good relationships with the truckers. I have one friend who’s a big trucker and he’s — he’s like — said, ‘I’ve never seen anything like it,’ you know, with the roads — you’ve heard this story — with the roads, and his trucks are all being destroyed, and he’s going to start buying cheap equipment now. Yeah, the roads are in bad shape.”
Some rich people who haven’t been auditedInterview with CBS News, April 2017.
“I mean, I have been under audit, I’ll bet you 12 or 13 or 14 years in a row. Now, I have friends that are wealthy people. They’ve never been audited.”
A smart guySpeech in New York, April 2016.
“I have a friend, he’s a smart guy. He said, ‘How could a certain politician have made that deal? I didn’t think he was that stupid.’ I said, ‘It’s not stupid at all. He’s doing it because his lobbyist is demanding that he do it.’ “
A guy who no longer goes to ParisSpeech at the Conservative Political Action Conference, February 2017.
“I have a friend, he’s a very, very substantial guy. He loves the City of Lights, he loves Paris. For years, every year during the summer, he would go to Paris, was automatic with his wife and his family. Hadn’t seen him in a while. And I said, ‘Jim, let me ask you a question: How’s Paris doing?’ ‘Paris? I don’t go there anymore, Paris is no longer Paris.’ That was four years — four or five years, hasn’t gone there. He wouldn’t miss it for anything. Now he doesn’t even think in terms of going there.”
A guy whose father is a mean Wall Street baronSpeech in De Pere, Wis., March 2016.
“I have a friend who’s a guy who was born to a very, very successful Wall Street baron. And the Wall Street baron is a vicious, ruthless, horrible human being. You would not like him for dinner. You’d respect him, but you wouldn’t like him, and most of the people in the room would know who he is. One of the big barons of Wall Street.”This friend eventually helped manage the redevelopment of an unnamed golf club in Westchester, N.Y.
A great manufacturerSpeech in Millington, Tenn., February 2016.
“I have a friend who’s a great, great manufacturer. He deals with China. He says it’s a virtual impossibility.”
A guy who builds plantsSpeech in Kinston, N.C., October 2016.
“I have a friend who builds plants. He is, I believe, the biggest in the world. And I said, ‘How are we doing?’ He said, ‘Donald, we’re doing fine.’ ‘How’s your company?’ ‘Unbelievable.’ I said, ‘How’s this country, our country, the country we love?’ — and he loves this country, he’s an American — ‘How’s it doing?’ ‘Not good.’ I said, ‘Well, how are you doing well?’ He said, ‘I am building the greatest plants anywhere in the world — in Mexico.’ “
A guy who bought an airplaneSpeech in Walterboro, S.C., February 2016.
“I have a friend who actually bought an airplane and he can’t get it into China because the tax is so massive. He’s going to sell it now at a big loss.”
A doctorSpeech in Knoxville, Tenn., November 2015.
“I have a friend, he’s a doctor. He’s going to quit. He’s not an old guy. I say, ‘Why?’ He said, ‘Because it’s impossible. We need so much accounting.’ He said he has more accountants than he has nurses.”
A war historianSpeech in Keene, N.H., September 2015.
“The Afghanistanian people, great fighters, always have been known. I have a friend of mine, he’s a big war historian. Among the best fighters, Afghanistan.”
A rich friend who doesn’t own a hedge fundSpeech in Columbus, Ohio, August 2016.
“I have a friend, he’s very wealthy. He doesn’t own a hedge fund.”
Some people in BaltimoreInterview with The Post, March 2016.
“You look at our inner cities, our inner cities are a horrible mess. I watched Baltimore, I have many, many friends in Baltimore, we watched what happened. St. Louis, Ferguson, Oakland, it could have been much worse over the summer.”
“I have many, many friends from the Philippines. They’re great people.”
A statement after his remarks about Judge Gonzalo Curiel, June 2016.
“I am friends with and employ thousands of people of Mexican and Hispanic descent”
Twenty MuslimsComment to a reporter, February 2016.
Asked who his best Muslim friend is, Trump replied:
“I could give you about 20 of them.”
For what it’s worth, Trump also has a lot of friends whose names he’s happy to relay.
